René González was born on August 5, 1964, in the town of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico. He is the eighth of eleven siblings (not including five who passed away at birth). René González is one of the most acclaimed and respected voices in sacred music.
Throughout his musical career, he has garnered multiple accolades, including awards such as the Tu Música Awards in Puerto Rico, the Arpa Awards in Mexico, the Galardón Awards in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, the Paóli Awards in Puerto Rico, and Dove Awards in the USA. His compositions are renowned within Spanish-speaking communities across South America, Central America, Europe, and the Caribbean.
Recently, René González faced an accident that nearly claimed his life. Today, he lives to testify that miracles are still real.
With a career spanning 36 years, he celebrates this milestone with his new musical proposal, "VIVO." René González returns with his unique style as a composer and his excellent, powerful voice.
